The Toronto Raptors were also one of the teams that greatly benefited from the 2003 NBA Draft. By selecting Chris Bosh, the Raptors would have some success and make it to the playoffs with Bosh up front.

In this re-draft, Bosh was taken at pick No. 3 by the Denver Nuggets, but not to worry, the Raptors have Dwyane Wade to fall in their laps. At the time, Vince Carter was still on the roster and in his prime, but it would have given the Raptors their star guard of the future to groom alongside Carter or get other pieces in place to build around Wade.

The Raptors had a roller coaster season in 2003-2004, which meant they weren’t good enough to be in the playoffs, but they weren’t bad enough to land another top pick alongside the one that they had just made.

With Wade on the Raptors, there’s no doubt that they take off and become one of the premier teams in the league, provided they were able to add some pieces around Wade.

Imagine how awesome it would have been to see a lineup featuring both Wade and Carter for many years. It would have more than filled the void that Tracy McGrady left by leaving.
