1. Contend for Offensive Rookie of the Year

Elliott was the third offensive player and the first non-quarterback on the offensive side of the ball to be selected in the 2016 NFL Draft and is a very early favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year this upcoming season. While the former Buckeye star does not actually need to win the award, he has to be in the conversation to truly earn his contract.

Zeke is in a tremendous position to succeed, running behind a great offensive line and playing in an offense that seemingly has all the other pieces already in place. Elliott will be given every opportunity to rack up the yards on a national stage by virtue of playing for “America’s Team” and will definitely garner massive media attention, which will only help his cause.

Elliott will most likely compete against the likes of Los Angeles’ Jarred Goff and Philadelphia’s Carson Wentz, who were both drafted ahead of him. Since 2000, running backs have won the Offensive Rookie of the Year more than any other position with Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams winning last year.

Elliott will face very similar expectations to Gurley, who rushed for 1,106 yards and 10 touchdown in his first professional season. If Zeke meets these lofty expectations, he will definitely walk away with the award.
