2. Trea Turner, Washington Nationals

No everyday player has a clearer path to the majors than Trea Turner. Despite leading the NL East, the Nationals are in need of an offensive upgrade, and with the way that Turner has been tearing the cover off of the ball in the minors, he is the perfect fit in D.C.

Turner should be able to make an easy transition to the Majors, as he possesses an enticing combination of contact hitting (.316 average/.380 on-base percentage), speed (Triple A-best 14 stolen bases) and experience (he had the opportunity to see some MLB pitching during a brief call up last year). He could make a quick ascension up Dusty Baker’s lineup card, as he is a natural leadoff hitter at this juncture in his career.

The only reason why Turner is not already with the Nationals is due to the business of the game, as the team is waiting for his Super Two deadline to pass. This would put him on trajectory for a June debut this season, and he stands to see plenty of playing time once he does arrive, as current everyday shortstop Danny Espinoza is struggling to keep his average north of the Mendoza line.
