High Value SG

J.R. Smith-Cleveland Cavaliers (4,900): Smith had his best game of the series in Game 3 scoring 22 points in 37 minutes and adding five rebounds and a steal for a total of 33.25 fantasy points. It was his highest fantasy production of the playoffs, but much of his success came because Kyrie Irving could not get going offensively.  I wouldn’t expect a repeat of this kind of scoring in Game 4, but he’s still the best mid-range play at SG mostly because he logs a ton of minutes with the Cavs’ starting unit and does get the opportunity to put together good games like this one.

Andre Roberson-Oklahoma City Thunder (3,300): Roberson came back to earth a bit after a good Game 6 against the Spurs and Game 1 against the Warriors.  He had 29.9 and 18.5 fantasy points in those two contests but only played 15 minutes and had just 9.6 fantasy points in Game 2. He’s still worth a look as a cheap play since he does get time with the starting unit and remains one of the Thunder’s best perimeter defenders, but he is also high-risk since his production comes and goes.

Iman Shumpert-Cleveland Cavaliers (2,800): Shumpert played over 20 minutes off the bench again in Game 3 and finished with 13 fantasy points. He isn’t getting a ton of production but the playing time is there and he has been able to get into double-digit fantasy points in five of his last six. Shumpert is a lot like Roberson in that scoring isn’t their primary focus but their non-scoring stats can sometimes combine with a few made shots to produce good numbers. Both Roberson and Shumpert are high-risk at the minimum, but I’d lean toward Shump over Roberson just because he is getting really nice run with Cleveland’s second unit.
