2016 NBA Mock Draft: Sixers Select Ben Simmons

SF. Duke. Brandon Ingram . 2. player. 20. Mitch Kupchak and the Lakers brass had to be ecstatic after last week’s NBA Draft Lottery, because they get to keep their lottery selection this season. Had that pick fallen out of the top-3 it would have went to the Sixers and the Lakers rebuild process would have been delayed. <p>Add Brandon Ingram to the purple and gold and that eases a lot of the recent pain and struggle Lakerland has endured. Kobe is gone. Hibbert is gone. Now the days of D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. can commence. Adding a talent the caliber of Ingram is a potential game-changer for Los Angeles. Ingram will have just turned 19-years old when the 2016-17 season rolls around and he’s ready to contribute immediately.</p> <p>The 6-10 small forward is a potential matchup nightmare for opposing forwards, because he can stretch the floor with his 41 percent 3-point shooting (5.4 attempts) he showed at Duke and he can also attack the rim. While he’s got NBA height, his weight leaves a bit to be desired as Ingram <em>might </em>be 200 pounds soaking wet. Lofty comparisons to superstar Kevin Durant are already being made and even KD was 225 pounds coming out of Texas.</p> <p>Whether Ingram is the selection or Simmons falls to L.A., the franchise should be thrilled adding another piece to their rebuidling puzzle.</p> <p><em>To read more about Brandon Ingram, </em><a href=
