Green Bay Packers – TE Jared Cook

A third straight tight end on the list? Yes, another tight end, thus once again confirming how in flux the position is entering the 2016 season.

Cook has been largely a tease for fantasy owners over his seven-year NFL career (four with Tennessee, three with St. Louis). At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Cook boasts ideal size and speed for the position, but he’s never eclipsed 759 receiving yards or five touchdowns in a single season.

The lack of touchdowns, in particular, is frustrating for a player of his size. He should be a consistent weapon around the red zone. Of course, in defense of Cook, he’s been saddled with less-than-stellar quarterback play for the majority of his career. That’s all about to change though.

Cook now calls Green Bay home and he’ll get to catch passes from two-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. Last season, second-year tight end Richard Rodgers finished with 58 catches for 510 yards and eight touchdowns. He likely won’t disappear from the game plan, but Cook should emerge as the top pass-catching tight end.

Cook has been a disappointment in past seasons, but he’s found a perfect landing spot in the Packers’ high-scoring offense to finally produce a breakout season.
