4. Los Angeles Dodgers Trade for Minnesota Twins Starting Pitcher Ervin Santana

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a loaded lineup, strong bullpen and one of the best starting pitchers in the entire game. However, they severely lack quality depth in the rotation.

While they are floating around .500 and well behind the San Francisco Giants in the NL West right now, the Dodgers are likely to be serious contenders in the league this season. However, if they expect to seriously compete, some improvements must be made to their rotation.

The 11-33 Minnesota Twins are likely to be major sellers this off season, with ace pitcher Ervin Santana being their prize. With Santana under contract for two more seasons, the Twins could easily decide to keep him, but I do not think they will hesitate to move him for the right deal.

Santana has always been a productive pitcher, and his 3.13 ERA through seven starts this season has gotten him off to a strong start. If Santana continue to perform well, teams like the Dodgers are undoubtedly going to be interested in bringing him in to the mix.

The Twins do not have to trade their ace pitcher, but he sure would look nice as the number two in a contending Dodgers’ rotation. Santana should be obtainable, and the Dodgers need some sort of an upgrade in that rotation. A move that could pay of for both sides for many years, Santana to LA would make a lot of sense.
