8. Adam “Pacman” Jones

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones has come a long way. Once upon a time, Jones was one of the most hot-headed players in the entire league, suspended for the 2007 season for his alleged involvement in a shooting. That was nearly a decade ago. Jones definitely has more self-control than he used to.

Even a more subdued Jones is still an aggressive Jones. His impulsiveness got the better of him during the Bengals’ Wild Card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Feeling provoked by Steelers linebacker coach Joey Porter, also hot-headed during his time as an NFL player, Jones pushed him. That split second cost his team the game since the 15-yard penalty put the Steelers in scoring position.

Later, he also accused Antonio Brown of faking his concussion after teammate Vontaze Burfict leveled a helmet-to-helmet hit against the defenseless receiver. Brown’s concussion was actually so severe that he missed the next playoff game against the Denver Broncos.

One of the worst aspects of Jones’ actions is that he cost his team a sorely needed playoff victory after a very successful regular season. He let his team down, and he let some of the most long-suffering fans in the NFL down.
