5 reasons Jalen Hurd can win the 2016 Heisman
1. Opportunity
Some players have one game to show everything they can do and most put up big, gaudy numbers everywhere else. Other players get multiple opportunities in the spotlight.
This is where that SEC bias helps tremendously.
The Volunteers play the Gators, the Crimson Tide, the Bulldogs and the Aggies next season. They have a marquee non-conference matchup against the Virginia Tech Hokies played at Bristol Motor Speedway too.
These are ample opportunities to be in front of national audiences and make an impression. The kind of games every Heisman winner has to have and play well in to be successful.
Being in the SEC there is plenty of chance to get noticed and plenty of opportunities to have a big game on a big stage. That could be Hurd’s biggest advantage. Not just one game in the national spotlight, but a constant stream of games — particularly early in the season and then again should Tennessee make the SEC Championship Game.
