15 NBA players and their rapper counterparts

7. Carmelo Anthony and Pusha T
Can you believe that Carmelo Anthony has averaged 20 points per game every season since he came into the league in 2003? That’s 13 years of being one of the league’s top scorers.
Beyond that, though, Anthony hasn’t had much team success. He’s been to the Conference Finals but once–in 2009 with the Denver Nuggets–and not since forcing his way to the New York Knicks. That doesn’t take away the impressiveness of his longevity, though.
Meanwhile, Pusha T been in the game since 1997, starting in the rap duo Clipse before signing with Kanye West’s GOOD Music and going solo in 2010 (the same year Anthony was traded from the Nuggets to the Knicks).
Pusha T is one of the most well respected rappers around, especially by peers, yet none of his records have ever spent more than a week in the Billboard’s top five.
For both Anthony and Pusha T, you can’t really find a peak or valley in their steady careers. They know who they are–a score-first smooth stroker and a smart lyricist with pin-point precision rhymes–and don’t stray far from what brought them success.
Neither Anthony nor Pusha T have won many awards but that hasn’t taken away from how much we appreciate them.
