2. Trade for Draft Rights to Buddy Hield

No NBA superstars involved here, just a good old-fashioned draft day trade up for a player who makes a ton of sense on the team. Just think about this for a minute. The Celtics and 76ers make that trade for Okafor that I mentioned at the top and they then trade their other two first-round picks to the Denver Nuggets to a chance to take Buddy Hield with the seventh-overall pick.

The Celtics would be ecstatic to take home both Okafor and Hield with their first-round picks and all it would take is a bit of creative maneuvering. Hield exploded on to the scene last season, leading Oklahoma to the Final Four and taking home the Naismith award for the best player in college basketball.

Hield was a solid player for the Sooners before last season, but he really took his game to the next level as a senior. Hield became an absolute marksman, shooting 46% from three on the season. He also showed the ability to create his own shot both in the lane and shooting off of the dribble.

I really like Hield as a player and think he would be a fantastic fit as an offensive weapon on the Celtics’ roster. Taking him at number three may be a bit of a reach for a four-year college player, but using their capital to take him at seven would be a wonderful move.
