1. Nerlens Noel would be great next to Paul Millsap

If Nerlens Noel is going to be the replacement for Al Horford, then Paul Millsap is going to be counted on as the guy to put up points for the Hawks. He’s proven to be one of the best power forwards in the league and he’s a guy that can do it with ease.

By adding a guy with more of a defensive focus like Noel, Millsap can put more effort into scoring the basketball, as Noel anchors things in the middle.

Horford provided a lot of the same qualities on the defensive end and could also anchor the middle, but Noel is younger and has fresher legs than Horford.

If Hawks fans weren’t too enthused about handing out a max contract to Horford because of his age and regression, they will certainly be excited about Noel. He is younger and he’s a lot cheaper than Horford would cost, which would allow the team to allocate resources to other parts of the team.

Noel and Millsap could quickly become one of the best duos up front in the Eastern Conference and they look like a tandem that would match perfectly on paper.
