Miss Hawaii at the 2016 Miss USA pageant fought off picking between Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton for President of the United States

There are so many things to look for, admire, and enjoy about the annual Miss USA pageant. Unfortunately, though, some of the most famous (or rather infamous, maybe) moments in the history of the competition have come from the more humorous events—especially when it comes to the questions from the judges to the Final-5 contestants. That was the case in the 2016 Miss USA pageant when it came to Miss Hawaii.

Miss Hawaii was asked a simple question regarding the upcoming presidential election. She was simply asked whether or not she would vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton if the election were today and to obviously explain her reasoning. Just like a politician, she avoided the question almost completely:

She certainly cares about the right things in a candidate for the President of the United States. The only thing about that is here explanation had zero to do with the actual question, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton.

It’s pretty biting of how things are looking on the political front right now that a Miss USA contestant won’t even make the choice between Trump and Hillary because of how much vitriol there is toward each candidate in the public.

For what it’s worth, Miss Hawaii’s non-answer still got her into the Top-3, though she didn’t win.
