4. Boston Celtics

Of all the teams to play the Warriors from the Eastern Conference this past year, there was no team that challenged the Warriors more than the Boston Celtics did in their two meetings with the champs.

In their first meeting of the season in Boston, the Warriors needed extra minutes to dispatch of a Celtics team that clearly found a formula to hanging with Golden State and forcing Stephen Curry into uncomfortable situations on the court.

In their second meeting of the season, the Celtics handed the Warriors their first home loss of the season and ended their long winning streak at the Oracle Arena.

With physical guards that can play great defense and a team that can spread the floor and score the ball in a variety of ways, the Celtics are an ideal opponent to knock off the Warriors.

The problem for the Celtics is that they’re going to have to take that next step and add more talent to the roster to be able to make it out of the Eastern Conference. If this is indeed the summer that Danny Ainge cashes in on his assets and makes some moves, then the Warriors could be destined to take on Boston.
