Catcher

High-Salary Option: Jonathan Lucroy-Milwaukee Brewers (5,200): Lucroy continued his recent hot streak with a 1-3 night last night scoring a pair of runs and adding a walk. He’s now 9-19 (.474) in June and hitting especially well at home where he is rolling at a .350 clip.  He and the Brewers face the A’s again tonight and he’ll take on righty  Jesse Hahn who comes into tonight’s start with an ERA over six after he has allowed three runs or more in each of his last five starts. ∗∗

Mid-range Option: Matt Wieters (3,500): The Orioles took a second game in a row last night from the Royals in a game that featured a brawl and will probably result in some suspensions.  Winters got the night off against Yordano Ventura but should be back behind the plate tonight.  He is 2-4 with a pair of doubles against tonight’s starter Edinson Volquez with a pair of doubles, and he comes in with solid form having started the month 5-15 (.333) with a homer and eight RBI.

High-Value Option: Yadier Molina-St. Louis Cardinals (3,100): Molina started June slowly, but he has gone 1-4 in each of his last two games.  He’ll take on Alfredo Simon and the Reds tonight and comes into tonight’s action 6-18 in his career against the Reds’ starter with a pair of doubles. Molina is hitting just .256 on the season with one homer and 21 RBI, but he has a solid enough history to make him a good cheap play tonight.
