Madison Bumgarner-San Francisco Giants (11,400): MadBum has been excellent lately with three double-digit-strikeout starts in his last six games and six wins in his last eight trips to the hill.  Bumgarner will be facing a tough lineup with the Red Sox in town, but Boston struggles with lefties and doesn’t face the Giants’ Ace on a regular basis.  While he won’t be in my personal lineup since I’m a Red Sox fan and don’t pick against my team, he does make a lot of sense given his great form including a crazy 1.74 home ERA in his six starts at AT&T Park.∗∗∗

Max Scherzer-Washington Nationals (11,200): Scherzer totaled an astounding 93 fantasy points in his 20-strikeout game a month ago and has continued to pitch pretty well in most of his starts since then.  He has totaled 55 strikeouts in his last five starts and has lowered his ERA to 3.87.  Scherzer should know tonight’s opponent well from his time with the Tigers, and over the last three seasons he went 7-2 against the White Sox with a solid 2.58 ERA and 68 K’s in 66.1 innings. I like both him and Bumgarner a lot tonight, and both make a ton of sense as the ace at the top of your lineup.

Nathan Eovaldi-New York Yankees (8,200): Eovaldi is a solid midrange play as the Yankees look to take their third straight from the visiting Angels.  Eovaldi struggled a little in his last start on the road in Baltimore, but he has cruising along before that with six quality starts in his previous eight games.  He has at least five strikeouts in each of his last four games and had won five straight outings before taking a no-decision in his last start.  His ERA for the season is still at 4.09, but his 6-2 record shows the benefits of having a solid lineup behind him.  He is averaging just under a strikeout-per-inning on the year, but the Angels lineup hasn’t looked good in the first tow games of the series, so I think he’ll put together another nice outing tonight.
