38. If Marquese Chriss has enjoyed a meteoric rise to potential stardom, once heralded recruit Skal Labissiere has endured just the opposite. Once a lock to be a top-3 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Skal struggled at the University of Kentucky and will subsequently slip a bit come June 23rd.
He finished his only season at Kentucky averaging 6.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in just 16 minutes a night for Coach Cal. He took a while to adapt in Lexington but once he was put in more opportune positions — mainly pick-and-roll options — his skill set really began to shine through. He has an adept touch both around the rim and on his mid-range jumper, which is one of his more appealing traits for NBA clubs. Skal is still just 20-years old, a 7-0 footer and has an immense amount of defensive potential with a near 7-3 wingspan.

Orlando is still in rebuild mode, but recent drafts have their overall stock trending upwards as Victor Oladipo, Elfrid Payton and Aaron Gordon are all key cogs in their franchise moving forward. While Skal isn’t likely to perform right away — mostly due to his lack of general awareness and basketball IQ — he could be a legit, shot-making, rim protector just a couple seasons down the road.

To read more about Skal Labissiere, <a href=.
