player. 66. It’s stunning that Deyonta Davis could be off the board before his supremely-accomplished teammate Denzel Valentine, but that’s exactly what unending potential does for a young player and Davis fits the bill. Davis is merely 19-years old but stands a monstrous 6-10 with a 7-2 wingspan and has the defensive potential to be the next great shot blocker in the NBA.
His freshman season finished with him averaging 7.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in just under 19 minutes per contest for Coach Izzo and the Spartans. Though it was limited time on the court, Davis finished with a ridiculous block rate of 10.2 while snatching 17.1 percent of all rebounds while he was checked in. Davis showed quality footwork both as a roll man and as a cutter at Michigan State, so while he won’t be able to create for himself he can still be a viable offensive player in the league.

The Phoenix Suns really need a power forward to stand in next to Tyson Chandler and Alex Len and while Davis projects as a center long-term, he can fill in at power forward when needed. His shot blocking prowess really is extraordinary and he looks like a lock to be an upper echelon rim protector at the next level.

To read more about Deyonta Davis, <a href=. PF.
