Brice Johnson . 22. player. 170. The Charlotte Hornets have a very important off season ahead of them with Al Jefferson, Nicolas Batum, Marvin Williams and Courtney Lee as free agents. Bringing back Batum will likely be priority number one, but Jefferson could be just as important. The Hornets franchise hasn’t had a ton of success bringing in former Tar Heels, but Brice Johnson is too talented to pass up this late in the draft.
Johnson finished his senior season at Carolina averaging 16.9 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.5 blocks for Coach Williams. The Tar Heels came just short of earning a National Title and Johnson was a key cog in their offensive machine. Johnson displayed his freakish athleticism all season regularly coming up with monster blocks at opportune times, and consistently finishing around the rim. The big improvement was his jump shot as he increased his range out to 15-18 feet and proved that he can regularly hit that shot — even when contested.

Johnson is a solid value pick at No. 22 for Charlotte and brings raw emotion to the court each and every night. Sometimes that works in his favor, and other times it certainly does not, but teams know they are going to get 100 percent from him each and every game. His defense is still a question mark at the next level, but even that aspect of his game was much improved during his senior campaign.

To read more about Brice Johnson, <a href=. PF.
