Second Baseman

High-Salary Option: Matt Carpenter-St. Lous Cardinals (4,200): Carpenter has at least 12 fantasy points in six of his last seven games after posting 21.7 fantasy points last night against the Cardinals going 1-3 with a double and adding in three walks.  Carpenter is another lefty facing a lefty, but he’s going too good to let that scare you off even though he’s over 4K tonight. ∗∗

Mid-range Option: Robinson Cano-Seattle Mariners (3,600): Cano has gone 5-14 (.357) in his career against tonight’s starter Josh Tomlin with a pair of doubles and a home run.  He has also started June hitting well going 9-29 (.310) over the last week to drag his average for the year up to .292. Cano has hit safely in seven of his last eight games including three multi-hit performances.

Mid-range Option: Brain Dozier-Minnesota Twins (3,500): It took Dozier a while to get going this season, but he has started June 10-30 (.333) to pull his average to still a very-low .222.  He went 3-4 last night against the Marlins and is a combined 5-9 against them with nine total bases against them in the first two games of the series. He and the Twins get Tom Koehler tonight, so look for him to keep producing solid numbers as he continues to turn things around after his slow start.

High-Value Option: Scooter Gennett-Milwaukee Brewers (2,800): Gennett had two hits last night against Oakland and drove in three of the four runs in the game as Milwaukee got the 4-0 win.  Bennett hit second behind double-play partner Jonathan Villar and had his third multi-hit game in his last five starts.  He doesn’t have much power, but if he’s near the top of the lineup tonight against Bartolo Colon he could again be very involved in the Milwaukee attack.

High-Value Option: Ryan Flaherty-Baltimore Orioles (2,500): Flaherty went 1-3 in each of the last two games against the Royals with a home run on Tuesday and a double and two RBI last night. He’ll likely get the nod again tonight against Marcus Stroman who has been struggling lately and could be in for a pounding if the O’s can keep hitting like they have been lately.
