Third Baseman

High-Salary Option: Josh Donaldson-Toronto Blue Jays (3,900): Donaldson starting the Jays’ road trip 0-10 before going 3-4 in their finale in Detroit yesterday with a triple, homer, and three RBI.  He finished with an impressive 44.1 fantasy points and will look to carry that momentum into tonight as the Jays host their division-rival Orioles. His form before that game makes him a little risky, but he has the potential for another monster night.

Mid-range Option: Alex Rodriguez-New York Yankees (3,300): A-Rod has four multi-hit performances in his last five games and is 12-34 (.345) with a home run and five RBI so far this month. He’s a very solid midrange play as the Yankees look to finish off their four-game sweep tonight and take on Jhoulys Chacin. ∗∗∗∗

Mid-range Option: Martin Prado-Miami Marlins (3,100): Prado has gone 2-4 in both of the first two games the Fish have played in Minnesota putting up 18.2 fantasy points and 15.7 fantasy points. He will face fellow-veteran Ervin Santana tonight and comes in 3-9 against the struggling righty in his career.  Prado doesn’t have the pop that A-Rod and Donaldson offer, but he has been hitting well enough lately to be a solid mid-range alternative.∗∗

High-Value Option: Jhonny Peralta-St. Louis Cardinals (2,200) Peralta has collated two hits in each off his fist two games back off the DL going 2-4 with a pair of doubles for 19 fantasy points and last night going 2-5 with a homer and three RBI for an even better 34.9 fantasy points. He should continue to get playing time and swing a hot bat tonight against lefty Brandon Finnegan. Even though Peralta is righty, he doesn’t feast on lefties, but his current form and great price still make him an attractive option tonight. ∗∗∗
