Shortstop

High-Salary Option:  Eduardo Nunez-Minnesota Twins (3,700): Nunez was in a ton of lineups including mine last night after his power surge to start the month, but he proceeded to lay an egg going 0-5 and getting no fantasy points at all. He had been on a power binge with four homers in the previous week while going 9-28 (.321) and piling up multiple hits in seven of his last ten contests. He will look to bounce back tonight against Tom Koehler and the Marlins, and I think he’s a red-hot bat to stay in on despite last night’s letdown. ∗∗

High-Salary Option Jonathan Villar-Milwaukee Brewers (3,500): Villar bounced back from his own 0-4 with a 2-3 night last night and added a stolen base to get to 18.2 fantasy points. He has at least 15 fantasy points in five of his last eight games and is a power and speed threat at the top of the Brew-Crew attack much like Nunez is for the Twins. Nunez is a little hotter but has fewer steals on the season.   I’d give the slight edge to Nunez for tonight, but both he and Villar are good plays.

High-Value Option: Gregorio Petit-Los Angeles Angels (2,800): Petit came through big time for my FanDuel daily picks last night going 2-4 against the Yankees with a home run and a pair of RBI for a total of 25.2 fantasy points. He has multiple hits in four straight games now and has started the month 10-23 (.435) in June with six doubles and that home run. He’s still hitting at the bottom of the Angels order for now, but he’s a nice cheap option if you can’t go with Nunez or Villar.
