2. Marc Gasol, 2007, No. 48 overall pick

Marc Gasol is the only player on this list with the distinction of being traded for his sibling! The Los Angeles Lakers selected Marc No. 48 in the 2007 draft and then in 2008 shipped him to the Memphis Grizzlies for his brother Pau. While Marc has developed into a dynamite center, the Lakers likely don’t regret the move seeing as they won multiple championships with Pau as Kobe Bryant’s running mate.

Like his brother, Marc is a cerebral center who not only makes plays for himself, but simply enables his teammates to be their very best as well. His career averages of 14.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.3 blocks really undersell his value for a Grizzlies’ franchise that has grown to love the big man. He shoots the mid-range with an adept touch, but he can also hit opponents with a bevvy of post moves on his way to dropping 20/10 during a Grit-n-Grind win.

Gasol had one real banner year for his defense and it was 2012-13 when he took home Defensive Player of the Year honors. Surprisingly, he hasn’t made All-Defensive Team in any other season. Gasol is 31-years old but likely has five or six quality seasons left based on his style of play and the Grizz have him locked up through the 2019-20 season, after which his career earnings will hit $170 million!
