8. Draymond Green, 2012, No. 35 overall pick

Draymond Green is the most recent draft pick to make the list, and theoretically if he continues on his current career trajectory he will be much higher when it’s all said and done. Green already has one NBA championship to his name and he’s one of the most versatile players on a small-ball, record-setting team for the ages.

Since becoming a starter under Steve Kerr two seasons ago, his averages show off his wide ranging skill set with 12.8 points, 8.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game. His true shooting percentage has gone from 40.4 his rookie year to 58.7 this season and the Warriors have him signed through the 2019-20 season with a five-year, $82 million extension last summer. While the other pivotal Warriors were all lottery picks, Green was the home run Golden State hit at No. 35 and he’s become the driving force, the emotional leader and the endless mouth behind the champion Warriors.

Sometimes his antics draw the ire of fans and opponents, but Green just keeps chugging along. He knows why he’s here and every little statement, move, kick, etc. has one thing in mind — winning. He’s certainly helped the upstart Warriors win games in droves.
