Second Baseman

High-Salary Option: Jose Altuve-Houston Astros (4,300): The ‘Stros are in Tampa this weekend to take on the Rays.  Altuve will look to keep his hot start to the month rolling as he cones in 14-35 (.400) so far in June.  He brings some nice speed to your fantasy team (18/19 in SB attempts this season) and has multiple hits in four of his last five games and six of his last ten. If you can afford him, Houston’s spark plug is almost always involved in something good that can help your team. ∗∗∗∗

Mid-range Option: Robinson Cano-Seattle Mariners (3,600): Cano hit a pair of homers last night for my FanDuel daily picks against the Indians and will look to keep his hot start to June going tonight against the Rangers.  Cano is 13-30 (.333) with three doubles and three homers so far this month and is 16-43 (.372) in the past against Texas starter Derek Holland including a pair of homers, nine RBI, and a 1.028 OPS. His salary is sure to be on the rise soon, so get him in the mid 3K’s while you still can.∗∗

Mid-range Option: Jurickson Profar-Texas Rangers (3,000): Since getting called back up to Texas, Profar has been a great fit at the top of the Rangers lineup. He is hitting .389 (21-54) with an OPS of 1.011.  He has multiple hits in seven of his last eight starts and should stay in the leadoff spot tonight against Hisashi Iwakuma.  Texas is having to be creative with exactly what position he plays in the field, but there’s no question he belongs in the Majors with his bat making quite a loud case for him lately.

Mid-Range Option: Scooter Gennett-Milwaukee Brewers (3,000): Gennett was another solid option in my FanDuel daily picks last night going 4-4 against the Mets and posting over ten fantasy points for his fourth straight start.  Gennett and the Brewers face Matt Harvey and the Mets tonight in Game 2 of their weekend series, and I think Gennett is a nice value play if he gets another start coming off his big night last night. ∗∗

High-Value Option: Chase Utley-Los Angeles Dodgers (2,700): Utley hasn’t been hitting well lately going just 1-17 in the last week, but he’ll look to get things turned around tonight as the Dodgers head to San Francisco.  He is in what looks to be a tough matchup against Jhonny Cueto, but he has actually hit him pretty well in his career coming into tonight 10-26 (.385) against him with a double and a home run.
