Third Baseman

High-Salary Option: Nolan Arenado-Colorado Rockies (4,300): When it comes to high-salary 3B, Arenado is my go-to play especially when the Rockies are at home like they are tonight.  Arenado is hitting .327 at Coors Field this season with ten homers in 101 at-bats and an OPS of 1.062.  He’ll face Andrew Cashner of the Padres in tonight’s game who is is 7-20 against in his career.  Arenado is always a good option and comes in hot after opening the month of June 12-35 (.343) with two homers and eight RBI.∗∗

Mid-range Option: Alex Rodriguez-New York Yankees (3,400): A-Rod didn’t have another multi-hit game last night but his two-run double still made it a good night for his fantasy owners.  He does have four multi-hit performances in his last six games and is 13-38 (.342) with a home run and seven RBI so far this month. He is 6-18 with a home run in his career off Mike Pelfrey who gets the start for Detroit tonight as the Yankees look to continue their strong homestand. ∗∗

Mid-range Option: Martin Prado-Miami Marlins (3,200): Prado picked up two hits in each of the three games the Marlins played in Minnesota finishing with over 15 fantasy points in each of the three contests as he raised his average to .314 on the season.  He’ll take on Patrick Corbin tonight which should be a good matchup for him since he is hitting lefties at a strong .364 clip this season.  Prado doesn’t give you power or stolen base speed but he consistently makes good contact and contributes. ∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Wilmer Flores-New York Mets (2,300)Flores started the season woefully slow, but he has really found his groove as the calendar turned to June and is 10-21 (.476) this month.  He went 3-4 last night in the Mets win in Milwaukee and he’ll likely get another start tonight against his fellow-Venezuelan Junior Guerra.
