4. Furkan Korkmaz, SG, Turkey

Furkan Korkmaz is an 18-year old wing prospect from Turkey who currently plays for Anadolu Efes. He has established himself as a first round talent because of his performances in FIBA youth events and by playing a solid role in the BSL in Turkey. Korkmaz played just 8.8 minutes per game during Euroleague competition, but attempted 6.2 three-pointers per 40 minutes, the second highest mark among top 100 prospects playing in the event, according to Draftexpress. Across all competitions in the last two seasons, he has converted 42.2 percent of his 173 three-point attempts for Anadolu Efes.

Korkmaz has a bit of a unique jumper in that he pulls the ball back over his head and then aggressively flicks his wrist forward on the release. It’s unconventional and seems to lower his release point, but he has been effective with it so far. At 6-8, he has the height to prevent his jump shot from being blocked regularly, but against more athletic and talented NBA players, he may need to quicken his release. Still there’s little doubt that Korkmaz has been successful from behind the arc over the past two years and his ability to knock down threes off the catch or from his dribble make him an attractive prospect.
