Irish UFC star Conor McGregor made a hype video for Ireland soccer ahead of the 2016 Euros

There are plenty of celebrities that hail from Ireland and even many Irish celebrities that occupy some space in the world of sports. However, there is no star brighter and possibly no star that’s quite as proud of his country as UFC star Conor McGregor. As such, it only made sense that Ireland soccer would get the fighter to make a video to hype up the team.

Ahead of their opening match on Monday against Sweden, this was the “rallying cry” that Conor McGregor made for Ireland soccer to try and get them hyped up and ready to shock the world in a brutally tough Group E:

"Here is that rallying cry from @thenotoriousMMA to Ireland ahead of the start of #euro2016. We are here to take overhttps://t.co/wvOs5K8O4s— RTÉ Soccer (@RTEsoccer) June 13, 2016"

Well if the Irish soccer team doesn’t want to lead armies, run through brick walls, or try to move mountains after that (or at least just play soccer really well) I’m not sure that anything is ever going to get them fully hyped up and motivated.

Say what you want about the arrogance or confidence and even the personality of Conor McGregor, but you have to admire the pride that the man takes in his heritage and his home country. That he would take the time to do this and be so passionate about what he’s saying speaks volumes about his Irish pride and hopefully helps the team get an extra boost coming into the Euros.
