Original pick: Anthony Bennett

It is easy to forget that the Cleveland Cavaliers recently whiffed on a number one overall selection. With all due respect to Anthony Bennett, his career hasn’t exactly panned out in the way that Cleveland expected, and the Cavs threw a curve ball even at the time by selecting the former UNLV forward.

With all of that said, there is not a lot of uncertainty as to what Cleveland would do with three years of hindsight and evaluation. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a special talent. In his age-21 season, the 6-foot-11 forward averaged 16.9 points, 7.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.2 steals per game while shooting nearly 51 percent from the field, and Antetokounmpo exploded in the second half of the season for multiple triple-doubles.

It would be interesting to see how Antetokounmpo would pair with LeBron James if he was just dropped into Cleveland in 2016, but without the benefit of clarity on that situation, the Cavaliers just accept the best player from the 2013 class. That player is Giannis Antetokounmpo, and given his athletic ability, size and overall skill level, his ceiling is (much) higher than any other player drafted from the much-maligned class of 2013.
. SF/PF/C. Greece. Giannis Antetokounmpo. 1. player. 156
