FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-June 14
Catcher
High-Salary Option: Wilson Ramos-Washington Nationals (3,600): Ramos is hitting .382 in June after going 2-4 last night against the Cubs. He connected on his tenth homer of the season and helped the Nats to a solid 4-1 win behind Max Scherzer. Tonight, Ramos and the Nats face John Lackey of the Cubs as they look to win their fifth straight at home. Ramos has proven himself to be one of the better offensive options behind the plate, so if you have the money he’s a good play tonight. . ∗∗∗
Mid-range Option: Salvador Perez-Kansas City Royals (3,100): Perez and the Royals have turned things around after dropping eight straight to the Indians, Orioles, and White Sox. They have won three in a row against the White Sox and Indians, and Perez has multiple hits in four of his last five games including his ninth home run of the season which he hit Sunday in Chicago. Perez is 10-24 over the last week with a pair of homers, and he’s in a great matchup tonight against Josh Tomlin and the Indians. Perez is 13-20 (.650) in his career against Tomlin with six doubles, a homer, and six RBI. Keep an eye on the sky, but if it looks like they’ll fit tonight’s game in, Perez is a nice option as a mid-range bat at catcher.∗∗∗∗
Mid-range Option: Matt Wieters-Baltimore Orioles (2,900): Wieters has hit David Price well in his career (15-47, .319, HR, 6 2B) so don’t let a matchup with the Red Sox Ace scare you off. Wieters has struggled over the last week going just 1-14, but he could turn things around tonight at Fenway.∗∗
High-Value Option: Kurt Suzuki-Minnesota Twins (2,400): If you’re looking for a cheap, hot bat check out Suzuki who has hit safely in eight of his last nine games with four multi-hit efforts during that stretch. He is 10-31 hit month with a homer and five RBI. Tonight, he and the Twins face Jhoulys Chacin as they look to win their third game in a row.∗∗
Bonus Bargain Basement Option: Robinson Chirinos-Texas Rangers (2,200): Chirinos got the day off yesterday in the Rangers loss in Oakland, but I expect him to be back behind the plate tonight. Chirinos is the usual starter but missed two months after breaking his forearm. Since his return he’s 0-6, but he should be in a place to get going tonight against Evan Surkamp of the Athletics. Chirinos usually hits lefties pretty well, so go with Chirinos if you need a extra-cheap option behind the plate.∗∗
