FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-June 14
Shortstop
High-Salary Option:: Xander Bogaerts-Boston Red Sox (4,000): Xander is a regular on my list and will look to help the Red Sox win in their first game of their extended homestand as they start by welcoming in the Orioles tonight. Bogaerts is 12-24 (.500) the last week with a double, two homers, and 11 RBI. He has thrived at Fenway where he his hitting .359 and has raised his average for the season to that number as well which is good enough to lead the League. Bogaerts has multiple hits in six of his last nine games and is a great play almost every night. The only hesitation to roll with the X-man tonight is that he is facing Chris Tillman who has held him to just 2-17 (.118) in his career.∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Corey Seager-Los Angeles Dodgers (3,600): Seager hit his 15th homer of the year last night against the D-Backs but LA still fell short. He’ll look to continue a strong start to June in which he has gone 13-41 (.317) with six homers and nine RBI. His average has improved in each month of the season and he seems to be setting in as the impact-bat that he was expected to be. He’ll face Archie Bradley in a good matchup tonight, so go with Seager if you are looking for a solid mid-range bat tonight.∗∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Marcus Semien-Oakland Athletics (3,000): Semien is starting to heat up a bit and had a big night last night going 3-5 with a run scored and his fifth steal of the season. Three of those five stolen bases have come in his last ten games when he has also raised his average from .229 to .242. He’s hitting .292 over the past week (7-24) with a double, homer, and three RBI. The A’s lineup isn’t one of the best in the league, but Semien has enough momentum and gets to face a lefty tonight in Martin Perez. Semien is 14-47 (.298) against southpaws this season with most of his power coming against LHP as well.∗∗∗
High-Value Option: Jose Iglesias-Detroit Tigers (2,600): Iglesias has hit safely in 11 straight games after going 1-3 with a pair of walks, an RBI and a stolen base last night in the Tigers walk-off loss to the White Sox. Iglesias is hitting .389 this month (14-36) with three doubles. He doesn’t bring lots of power, but he should again be able to find success tonight against Miguel Gonzalez who he is 5-11 against in his career. If you need a cheap SS, Iglesias is the way to go even though he’s still hitting at the bottom of the order.∗∗∗
