High Salary OF

Carlos Beltran-New York Yankees (4,300): Beltran is sure to be a popular option after his fast start to the month as he and the Yankees head to Colorado.  Beltran is 14-43 (.326) so far in June and has already crushed four homers.  The only risk factor with Beltran is that he is 0-9 in his career against Jorge De La Rosa which could mean De La Rosa has his number or Beltran is due to break out against him depending on how you interpret the data.

Bryce Harper-Washington Nationals (3,700): Another player who I think is worth a look despite a bad career track record batter-vs-pitcher is Bryce Harper of the Nationals who is 0-7 in his career against the Cubs’ probably starter John Lackey.  Harper has started the month of June hitting well going 12-38 (.316) to raise his season average up to .256.  He has yet to hit a long ball this month but does have 13 homers on the year. Harper’s power has been there, but his batting average is just starting to come around.  At this price point, his OBP due to his second-in-the-NL 52 walks is enough to make him worth a look since he has a nice .408 OBP despite his low average.  If he can keep up a good start to June, look for all his numbers to climb as the temperatures rise into the summer.

Dexter Fowler-Chicago Cubs (3,700): On the other side of the Cubs/Nats marquee matchup tonight, Dexter Fowler has fared much better against his opposition tonight as he comes into tonight 8-17 (.471) in his career against Gio Gonzalez with a homer and three RBI boosting him to an insane 1.324 OPS against Gio. Fowler took the collar last night going 0-4 and is hitting just .188 (9-48) in June, but maybe going up against a foe he has dominated is exactly what Fowler needs to get back on track. Fowler usually splits better against lefties as a whole, so look for a good night from him tonight despite his recent struggles.

Robbie Grossman-Minnesota Twins (3,400): While they mat still not be good, the Twins have definitely been less horrible lately and part of that is due to the emergence of Robbie Grossman as a nice solution in the middle of their lineup.  Grossman is hitting .325 with five homers, 15 RBI, and 16 runs scored since being called up. He has now played in 23 games for Minnesota and has an impressive 1.087 OPS.  He has been especially solid lately reaching base safely in each of his last ten games. Tonight he and the Twins will look to make it three in a row as they take on the Angels in LA.

Whitt Merrifield-Kansas City Royals (3,400): Merrifield was the hero last night against the Tribe going 2-4 with a triple and a home run on his way to 30.9 fantasy points. He has multiple hits in three of his last four games and is hitting an impressive .330 so far in his 22 games this season.  Merrifield is leading off right now for KC, so he should keep getting plenty of opportunities to impact the game tonight against Josh Tomlin and the Indians.

Chris Young-Boston Red Sox (3,400): Young struggled badly at the start of the season, but he has surged recently while filling in for Brock Holt and Blake Swihart in left field. Young has gone 12-32 (.375) in June with five homers and nine RBI. He’ll probably get the start again tonight as the Red Sox return to Fenway and face Chris Tillman. Most of the Red Sox have bad career numbers against Tillman including Young who is 1-7 with a double and a pair of walks. He’s still a solid play, though, given his recent form.∗∗
