2016 NBA Mock Draft: Celtics hold the draft cards at 3

7. player. 73. <p>The Denver Nuggets are in need of some perimeter scoring and either Kentucky’s Jamal Murray or Oklahoma’s Buddy Hield could be in play at this spot. For now, I’ll give the edge to Hield because the Nuggets appear to be more interested in winning soon than developing another young prospect and the Oklahoma guard is more ready to contribute right away.</p> <p>Hield is one of the best scorers college basketball has seen in recent memory. He is particularly deadly from outside where he knocked down 45.7 percent of his 322 three-point attempts as a senior. While he is not an excellent creator off the dribble, Hield is capable of attacking rotating defenses off the bounce in a straight line and is a surprisingly creative finisher around the rim once he gets there.</p> <p>The biggest knock on Hield will be his defense. He’s unlikely to ever be a shutdown wing defender, but he does play with decent effort on that end of the floor and is a more than capable team defender who understands rotations and can battle through screens.
