FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-June 16
Shortstop
High-Salary Option:: Xander Bogaerts-Boston Red Sox (3,900): X-man is my go-to as a high salary SS and puts up good fantasy numbers most nights. He has multiple hits in four of his last five games and is 12-22 (.545) over the last week with a pair of homers. He leads the League in hitting at .357 and has a very healthy .927 OPS.
He can even offer some speed (9 SB) and plenty of pop when he’s seeing the ball as well as he is right now. Tonight, he’ll face Tyler Wilson who is 3-4 against in his career with a pair of doubles and a pair of RBI. He’s a centerpiece to build your lineup around again tonight.∗∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Eduardo Nunez-Minnesota Twins (3,400): Nunez is hitting .317 on the season and slightly better (.333) against lefties. He has more of his power production against southpaws, though, which is why I like him as a good play against the Yankees and CC Sabathia tonight. Nunez has cooled off since a torrid power stretch early this month but he has still hit safely in eight of his last ten games.∗∗∗
Mid-Range Option: Jonathan Villar-Milwaukee Brewers (3,300): Villar has hit safely in six of his last eight including each of his last four. He offers a nice blend of speed and power at the top of the Milwaukee lineup and is in a solid matchup tonight against Scott Kazmir and the Dodgers. Villar has hit lefties well this year at a .338 clip as opposed to just .284 again righties, so he makes a solid option at SS as well tongiht.∗∗∗∗
High-Value Option: Jose Iglesias-Detroit Tigers (2,600): Iglesias continues to be an extremely solid cheap play at SS as he has gotten off to a hot start to June. He is 17-44 (.386) with four doubles and a home run. He has hit safely in 13 straight games and is up to .250 for the season. Iglesias is still stuck at the bottom of the Tigers order most nights, but he could move up against lefty Danny Duffy tonight. Iglesias is 2-7 against Duffy in his career including a triple. ∗∗∗
