Catcher

High-Salary Option: Wilson Ramos-Washington Nationals (3,300): Ramos had multiple hits last night for the third time in his last four games and is hitting over .330 coming into play tonight.  He also connected on his eleventh home run of the season last night as the Nationals picked up a win in the series opener in San Diego. Tonight, Ramos will face Christian Friedrich as he looks to continue his emergence as one of the best offensive catching options on a nightly basis. ∗∗

Mid-range Option: Robinson Chirinos-Texas Rangers (2,800): Chirinos rested yesterday in the Rangers win over Oakland since it was a day game after a night game, but he should be back in the lineup tonight against St. Louis.

Hopefully the day off doesn’t cool his bat since he connected on a pair of bombs on Wednesday to bring his total for the season to four even though he has only played ten games. Chirinos is hitting .250 in his 28 at-bats since returning from injury, and he should be the Rangers primary backstop moving forward making him a nice value at this price.∗∗∗∗

Mid-range Option: Victor Martinez-Detroit Tigers (2,700): V-Mart erased any concerns owners may have had about his lingering knee injury by blasting three solo homers last night to power the Tigers to a 10-3 win.  He’ll look to keep rolling tonight as he faces Yordano Ventura who he is 4-16 against in his career with a pair of homers.  If he remains in the middle of the Detroit attack, he’ll be a good buy at under 3K although last night’s show is sure to make him a popular play as well.∗∗

High-Value Option: Kurt Suzuki-Minnesota Twins (2,500): Suzuki kept hitting going 2-4 last night against the Yankees including a double and raising his June totals to 13-38. Tonight, he’ll face the tall task of taking on Masahiro Tanaka, but Tanaka has looked hittable lately and Suzuki is 1-3 in his career against him.
