High Salary OF

Nelson Cruz-Seattle Mariners (4,300): Cruz joins Kyle Seager as players in the Seattle lineup that terrorize the Red Sox.  Cruz has a 1.047 OPS at Fenway Park over the last three seasons going 23-68 with six doubles, five homers, and 14 RBI.

He comes into tonight’s game swinging a hot bat as well going 10-26 (.385) over the last week with a double and a homer to raise his season average to .298. ∗∗

Ian Desmond-Texas Rangers (3,800): Desmond returns to the National League for tonight as the Rangers head to St. Louis.  He’ll face Michael Wacha and the Cards at Busch Stadium in the first game of their interleague set.

Desmond doesn’t have good  career numbers at Busch Stadium or against Michael Wacha, but he is coming in hot after going 11-28 (.393) over the last week with multiple hits in three straight and five of his last seven.∗∗∗

Yoenis Cespedes-New York Mets (3,700): Cespedes is having his best month of the season for the Mets coming into tonight 14-44 (.318) in June even though he only has one long-ball.  He did have a big 3-4 game on Wednesday against Pittsburgh, and is a good play tonight against the struggling pitching of the Braves.

Adam Jones-Baltimore Orioles (3,400): Jones ripped another home run last night in Boston giving him four homers in his last four games. He has hit safely in five straight games including three with multiple hits and is heating up as the O’s try to pull away from Boston and Toronto at the top of the AL East where the three powerful offenses will continue to duel all summer.  Jones is hot right now, so ride him while you can since he tends to be extremely streaky. ∗∗
