2. Golden State’s big three.

Not since the early days of his prime as a professional has Nowitzki really played with top-end talent in Dallas. Under former head coach Don Nelson, Dallas had a great big three of Nowitzki, point guard Steve Nash, and shooting guard Michael Finley. Those six years in Dallas were magical.

Now Nowitzki has to deal with essentially also-ran players, as Cuban isn’t able to land top-tier free agents to pair alongside its aging superstar. Chandler Parsons has been the biggest splash Dallas has made in free agency in the last few years. DeAndre Jordan spurned the Mavericks to return to the Los Angeles Clippers.

In Golden State, Nowitzki would play alongside three All-Star caliber players in Curry, Green, and Thompson. Even if the Warriors aren’t able to win a title again for some reason, it would still be a ton of fun for Nowitzki to be on the floor with those three dynamic players of Golden State.

With Curry, there’s a little bit of Nash. With Thompson, there’s a touch of Finley. Perhaps there’s some elements of a younger Nowitzki in Green’s game? In a way joining the Warriors would be like Nowitzki would get a second shot at some of those electrifying Nelson Mavericks teams of the early 2000s. It could reinvigorate Nowitzki to give it his all for one more title run.
