FanDuel daily picks: Fantasy baseball lineup-June 20
High Value OF
Franklin Gutierrez-Seattle Mariners (3,100): Gutierrez had a huge weekend in Boston going 5-9 with a double, three home runs, four runs scores, and seven RBI. He’ll look to keep his momentum going tonight Mike Pelfrey, and I think he could be settling in to a solid role in the #2 spot in from of Cano/Cruz in the Seattle lineup. If he bats #2 again tonight, he’s a three-star play.∗∗∗
Shin-Soo Choo-Texas Rangers (3,000): Choo has gone 6-23 (.261) since coming off the DL with a stolen base, a home run, six walks, and three RBI. He usually bats right near the top of the lineup for Texas and gives them a great option with high OBP. He should be on base plenty again tonight and I like him at this price against the O’s in what should be a slugfest in Arlington tonight.∗∗∗
Joey Rickard-Baltimore Orioles (2,800): Rickard has hit safely in each of his last five straight starts and should get the nod tonight against lefty Derek Holland. Rickard is 9-28 (.321) in June with a home run, six runs scored, and a stolen base. Rickard is worth a look even if he’s at the bottom of the lineup, but if he hits second tonight, I’d upgrade him even more. Batting #2-∗∗∗∗ Batting 7-9-∗∗
Cameron Maybin-Detroit Tigers (2,800): Maybin is another good option at 2,800 especially since he has been hitting near the top of the order for Detroit. Maybe has four steals in his last six games and is hitting a solid .352 on the year. He is a crazy 27-54 (.500) at CoMerica Park where he’ll face the Mariners in what I think will be a high-scoring contest tonight. ∗∗∗∗
Daniel Nava-Los Angeles Angels (2,000): If you’re going to punt an OF spot to get salary for other spots, check out Daniel Nava who could get another start for the Angels after playing Friday against Oakland for the first time after a month on the DL.
He went 1-4 in his return and his hitting just .224 on the season, but he his 5-12 (.417) against Doug Fister in his career. Shane Robinson, who got the start in front of Nava Saturday and Sunday went 0-3 with three strikeouts yesterday, so I expece Manager Mike Sciascia to go back to Nava tonight. If starting-∗∗
