Shortstop

High-Salary Option Francisco Lindor-Cleveland Indians (3,900): Lindor is another Cleveland option to consider tonight against the Rays even though he is one of the most expensive SS options in play for tonight.  Lindor has gone 7-20 (.350) over the last week with five walks and a stolen base as well.  He has collected three three-hit games in his last seven games and has raised his average to .308 on the season.  He has hit lefties especially well coming into tonight 29-86 (.337) against the with a nice .853 OPS against southpaws.  An even bigger split in his favor tonight is his home/road numbers since he has crushes the ball at Progressive Field with a .943 OPS at home compared to just .700 on the road. Lindor isn’t cheap, but he is a good play tonight if you can afford the salary.∗∗∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Xander Bogaerts-Boston Red Sox (3,700): Bogaerts still seems a little under-priced to me since he averages more fantasy points per game than any other SS and is leading the AL in hitting at .352.  He added his tenth stolen base of the year in yesterday’s game and is  hitting a healthy .358 (24-67) so far in June with three homers, 16 RBI, and 13 runs scored.  Tonight, he’ll take on Miguel Gonzalez and the White Sox.  Gonzalez has held him in check in the past (3-14), but I think Xander will change that tonight. ∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Javier Baez-Chicago Cubs (2,900): Baez has been another important part of the Cubs attack, and is having a solid June hitting .302 (16-53) with four doubles, four homers and 13 RBI. Baez went 3-4 yesterday out of the #8 spot in the lineup and hit his sixth homer of the season.

While he doesn’t have elite speed or power,  he has been very involved in a very potent lineup, so look for him to continue to produce tonight if you need a good sub-3K play.∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Trevor Story-Colorado Rockies (2,800)After his blistering start, Story has faded a bit from the DFS consciousness.  However, he’s still a big part of the Rockies attack and has gone 5-17 (.294) over the past week including a double and a home run.

He and the Rox are on the road tonight, but they’ll be in a good matchup against Marlins starter Paul Clemens who will be making his first start of the season for Miami.  In his last trips to the Majors, Clemens went a combined 4-8 with a 5.51 ERA in 48 games over the last two seasons and went 6-4 with a 4.30 ERA in Triple-A this year. Story is always a bat to consider when he’s under 3K based on his power potential. ∗∗
