NBA Rumors: 5 draft day trades Denver Nuggets should make
5. Trade into the top ten
The Nuggets could find a way to make their seventh overall pick then trade right back into the top ten with any of the eighth through tenth picks, ending up with two of their highest rated players in the draft.
Right behind the Nuggets at picks number eight and nine are the Sacramento Kings and the Toronto Raptors. Talk about the King’s moving down if the board does not break their way has already surfaced. The Raptors on the other hand are a team that is ready to compete, and may not see much in terms of helping the team in 2016 at pick nine.
The Raptors also are preparing to deal with the loss of Bismark Biyombo to free agency after losing Amir Johnson the year before. Kenneth Faried is a player who fits the profile and role of those two and could be obtained to replace Biyombo this year.
Pick 15 and Faried should be more than enough to jump to the nine spot. They could work around a similar package to entice the Kings to end up one spot higher at eight, neither would be too hard to obtain.
With that you can walk away with the potential of a Jaylen Brown, Marquese Chriss combination, or Buddy Hield and Skal Labissiere. It could be a strong combination if the chips fell the right way.
