3. Trade back for more picks

Another scenario for the Pelicans would be to move their pick and turn it into a couple of other picks later in the draft. A couple of teams being the Suns, 76ers and Celtics could certainly be looking to move up. The 76ers, as mentioned have later first round picks and would probably have to pin one with a player.

The Suns have picks 4,13, 28, 34 in this draft. If they make their selection at four, and the player they were debating at four was their at six they may be interesting in jumping back up. It would probably take the rest of their picks, and they could add a lower name like Archie Goodwin or T.J. Warren. They could also shoot for Brandon Knight in a deal.

The Celtics have picks 3,16, 23, 31, 35, 45, 51, and 58. It means that they can beat the Suns in terms of added assets, and have names like Terry Rozier, James Young, and RJ Hunter that could be tossed into the mix.

The Celtics and Suns obviously get they want, and they double up on top ten players instead of playing the lottery late. For the Pelicans, does Jaylen Brown beat a combination of James Young, Diamond Stone, Demetrius Jackson and Paul Zipser? The right players would have to fall but the payoff could be nice if the Pelicans wanted to move down.
