It was the final edition of First Take for Skip Bayless, but did he cry?

Tuesday morning was a seminal moment in sports television history. Skip Bayless is departing First Take and ESPN to go shill over at Fox Sports with the like of Colin Cowherd and Jason Whitlock — which is a match made in hot take heaven.

But when one door opens, another closes and Skip is leaving his life on First Take behind. Tuesday was the final time we would hear Skip and Stephen A go at it, but the real question wasn’t how loud the volume would get but how wet the set would be.

So, did Skip Bayless cry on his final First Take? We live track his final show as we mine for tears:

10:00am ET — Skip Bayless gives massive monologue about the best of times, or something, but he didn’t cry. He came really close but didn’t actually shed a tear.

10:01am ET — Skip brought up Tim Tebow but somehow held it together.

10:05 am ET — Stephen A is yelling at Skip. It looked like a tear was starting to form but Skip held it together like a man.

10:18am ET — They just aired a farewell message from Nelly. Still no tears though.

10:30am ET — Tony Romo just bid farewell to Skip. This makes me want ESPN to turn heel and have Troy Aikman bid Skip farewell while shirtless and throwing a football to himself. That’ll get the waterworks going in Bristol.

10:35am ET — Tim Tebow has finally come up. Skip isn’t crying but everyone at home is.

10:41am ET — Stephen A said the lowest point of his career was coming to work the day after Tim Tebow beat the Steelers in OT. The water works at home continue.

10:42am ET — Skip was just told by Stephen A that he’s the reason Tim Tebow failed as a quarterback. This is the most amazing hour of television ever aired.
