Ticketmaster lawsuit might mean free tickets in your account

There might be free tickets waiting for you in your Ticketmaster account.

You might want to check your Ticketmaster account because you might have free tickets waiting for you. Thanks to a $400 million class action lawsuit that was recently settled, many people are now finding free tickets in their account.

The lawsuit, Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster, covers everyone who purchased tickets on Ticketmaster from 1999-2013 and allows them up to 17 vouchers or tickets. As a result of the case, Ticketmaster agreed to provide all members of the class a $2.25 credit on the future purchase of primary tickets for each transaction over the class period, for up to 17 claims. Also, a $5 UPS voucher has been made available to members of the class who had used UPS delivery during the class period, again to a maximum of 17 claims. These all seem to expire in 2020.

As part of the settlement, Ticketmaster agreed to give out $5 million in ticket vouchers to Live Nation concerts through May 2017, subject to availability, again with a maximum of 17 claims per person. However, due to the interest in the tickets, Ticketmaster upped the amount to $10 million in free ticket vouchers.

You will need to log into your account. Once in, check the menu bar on the left-hand side and click on “active vouchers” and see what might be awaiting you. Of course not everyone is getting free tickets. Personally, I didn’t get free tickets but I did have a bunch of discounts ranging from $2.25 to $5.00 on either tickets or shipping.

There are limitations on when and where you can use your free tickets and vouchers. They can only be redeemed for select events so you are going to have log into your account and see which ones you are able to attend. So far, from what I have seen of the list there are some decent concerts and events to choose from which is a really nice surprise. You might have to do some digging and scrolling to find one in your area though.
