Third Baseman

High-Salary Option: Justin Turner-Los Angles Dodgers (3,600): Turner lost his eight-game hitting streak last night but is still 10-25 (.400) over the last week with four homers and nine RBI.  He had five multi-hit games during that eight-game run, and he’ll look to get back on track in the late game tonight against Nationals start Joe Ross. ∗∗

Mid-range Option: Pedro Alvarez-Baltimore Orioles (3,100): Alvarez went yard twice last night against the Padres and drove in five runs as part of a monster 3-5 night that resulted in 50.9 fantasy points. He now has four homers in his last seven games, and is in a great matchup against Erik Johnson tonight who is prone to giving up long balls.  Alvarez is always a boom or bust play since he relies on homers for his fantasy production, but he is now 16-47 (.340) this month and is definitely heating up.  Get the streaky power producer in your lineup tonight if you can.

High-Value Option: Maikel Franco-Philadelphia Phillies (2,600): Franco is back in the middle of the lineup for the Phils after his recent struggles dropped him to the #6-spot.  He celebrated his return to the #3-spot with a 2-5 night last night connecting on a home run and driving in four runs.  He’s the Phillies best offensive option, and he’s in a good enough matchup to deserve flier consideration tonight if you’re spending under 3K.∗∗

High-Value Option: Conor Gillaspie-San Francisco Giants (2,200): With Matt Duffy on the DL, Gillaspie has an opportunity for some playing time if he can step up and produce.  He surely did last night leading the Giants to a 15-4 win by going 4-5 with a homer and four RBI on his way to over 40 fantasy points. Gillaspie hasn’t played much this season, but he’ll get a chance to make an impact while Duffy is sidelined. Make sure he’s in the lineup though, since he may get sent back to the bench with a tough lefty on the hill for Pittsburgh, Francisco Liriano.∗∗
