66. The Phoenix Suns took a homerun swing at No. 4 with Marquese Chriss and will now use their second lottery pick on Frenchman, Timothe Luwawu. The Suns are not contending for an NBA championship anytime soon, so bolstering their assets for the long term projections is the goal in today’s draft. Luwawu is viewed as another potential risky pick but the 6-7 wing is viewed by many as a top-10 talent in this draft so nabbing him at No. 13 is ideal for Phoenix.

Again, Luwawu is a 6-7 wing, with a reported 6-11 wingspan. The Suns have their shooting guard of the future in Devin Booker, but adding Luwawu for bench support at either shooting guard or small forward (in spurts) could work. He’s got all the upside of a “3-and-D” archetype and showed great improvement in his outside shot this past season for KK Mega Leks. He ended up hitting almost 36 percent of his 177 attempts from 3-point range, and while he needs work creating his own shot in the half court, he has all the making of a versatile two-way wing.

Luwawu is 21-years old and had some electrifying dunks this past season for Mega Leks which will help bring some excitement back to one of the more successful franchises in league history. The Suns need a shot in the arm and Luwawu and Chriss could bring that youthful exuberance they so badly need.
