100. The Indiana Pacers have one of the better two-way players in the entire league in Paul George, and also possess a sharp-shooting wing in C.J. Miles. Adding a player like DeAndre Bembry makes sense because he’s a mix of those two players, sans above-average shooting ability. Rather than shoot the ball, Bembry relies on his excellent cutting ability to slash off the ball and attack the rim with the ball in his hands as well.
Bembry stands 6-6 with a 6-9.25 wingspan so his value lies in slashing on offense and being a stellar defender on the other end of the court. The Pacers made a huge change this offseason letting Frank Vogel walk and promotion Nate McMillan to head coach, all the while Larry Bird is promising a more uptempo style along with the changes. While Bembry struggles shooting the ball (31.2 percent from 3-point range in his college career), he has the ability to handle the ball on the wing which he showed in the NCAA ranks with his impressive 24.2 assist rate at Saint Joe’s.

McMillan has the unenviable task of following a coach that probably shouldn’t have been let go, but as a veteran he’s up for the task. Adding someone the caliber of DeAndre Bembry at No. 20 is a great initial step in the right direction for him and the franchise altogether.

To read more about DeAndre Bembry, <a href=. SF.
