20. Brandon Ingram isn’t even 19-years old yet and he’s going to be given the keys to Los Angeles in about 10 hours — most likely. If the Sixers take Simmons — and the Lakers keep this pick — Ingram is the logical selection. In an NBA where length, shooting and versatility rules all Ingram possesses each quality in spades. The Lakers can easily fill their lineup with Ingram next to Russell, Randle and Clarkson and then focus on filling any voids via free agency. Lakerland is in full rebuild mode and Ingram fits the bill as the best player available, and the best fit for their team at this time.
Ingram finished his freshman year at Duke averaging 17.3 points and 6.8 rebounds while carrying the bulk of the scoring for Coach K on his back — especially in the latter third of the season. Those are impressive numbers on offense certainly, but this teenager also has a will to succeed on the defensive end as well. His length allows him to consistently alter shots, even if caught out of position from time to time, and that skill will make him increasingly more valuable at the top of this draft.

Ingram is sub 200 pounds and that will be a slight concern heading into his professional career, but there have been other offensive savants — Kevin Durant — who lacked bulk and still succeeded, so at least there’s a prototype for him to follow.

To read more about Brandon Ingram, <a href=.
