PF. Washington. Marquese Chriss . 4. player. 66. Marquese Chriss is the main “boom or bust” draft pick in the 2016 draft. He’s another potential stretch power forward, who isn’t even 19-years old yet, but has skyrocketed up draft boards after the NCAA season. The Phoenix Suns have reportedly given Chriss a promise at the No. 4 selection and honestly they might be the ideal team to take a homerun swing this early in the draft. After Simmons and Ingram there aren’t many immediate impact players, so using your top-5 selection on a guy who has all the potential to become just that, could work.
Chriss shot to draft fame after some ridiculous in-season highlight dunks and blocks for the University of Washington this past season. At 6-10, 230 pounds he has the physical makeup to improve into an ideal stretch four in today’s NBA. In his only college season he averaged 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds for Coach Romar and the Huskies, and while their team only made the NIT, they look to have two 1st round selections in this year’s draft.

Chriss needs the most improvement on the defensive side of the ball, where he was often lost last season. The real concern is the lack of pure defensive fundamentals, but teams are throwing that aside with the thought that they can mold him defensively once he’s on the roster. If that’s true then Chriss could turn out as a great gamble — or he could end up like Charlie Villanueva; that’s the chance teams are taking here.

To read more about Marquese Chriss, <a href=
