Ben Simmons was destined to be the first overall pick from the moment he put on his first pair of Underoos. However, based on his cubicle-friendly draft night attire, fashion may not be as innate of a talent for him.

The Undefeated tweeted that Simmons said he chose to wear a traditional three-piece suit because he’s “about to be in a men’s league, where no boys are allowed.” While an accurate point and respectable stance, that doesn’t mean that you aren’t allowed to show out a little bit, Ben. Just enough to show that it’s possible to mix professionalism with panache.

Instead of looking like a soon-to-be professional athlete, dude walked up there like he was about to bogart the mic from Adam Silver and force the audience to listen to his 12-step sales pitch. He looked as if he was prepared to sell some rice as opposed to “trusting the process.” You think he’s got a good recipe for jambalaya?
