B. . G. New Orleans Pelicans. BUDDY HIELD

Buddy Love is already a ray of sunshine both on and off the court, but it’s apparent he’s also a pretty big fan of James Bond movies – based on his white dinner jacket, that is.

It’s a sharp look, but it’s been done before (Nick Young wore a similar draft night outfit in 2007). The Sooner red bow tie, however, was a nice addition that made the entire ensemble pop. Speaking of bow ties, they seemed to have returned to “in” status recently, as multiple players were caught sporting one throughout the evening.

When did this happen? I swear it wasn’t that long ago when people were frequently shaded for wearing them during non-tuxedo formal settings – e.g. Jon Stewart chastising Tucker Carlson on Crossfire for his back in 2004. Don’t take that the wrong way; bow ties are great, and it’s awesome that more people are embracing the alternative.

The problem here is that it’s starting to become a little too difficult to keep up with all of these tectonic shifts in the world of fashion. Like cargo shorts. Why aren’t those cool anymore? The incredible amount of pockets alone are strong arguments for their relevancy in our society.
